OMGYOUGUYS. I came home from work today (feeling quite a bit sorry for myself, to be honest, having slogged home in the rain with a runny nose and a bag of groceries, at one point passing a whippet out for a walk who lunged at me like he could see the devil within) when lo and behold there was a brown paper bag on the doorstep. You'll never guess what was inside. NEVER. It was THIS:
Two flower bouquets, a bottle of bubbly, two (hilariously, delightfully used) candles, and a slice of homemade Victoria Sponge. No card. No note. Nothing. JUST THE GIFT. *head explodes* I don't even care if the cake is potentially poisonous, we're going to eat it. (Maybe Alan first.)
It is also official: I'm never leaving this neighborhood. Even if we DO have small rodent companions. I only wish I knew who left this so we could thank them properly.
I'm going to leave you here so I can make sushi for dinner - I passed by Japan Centre when visiting accounts earlier and couldn't resist the fresh tuna and eel so now TIME TO GET ROLLIN'. Then I'll camp out for the evening in front of the fire with a blanket and my box of tissues and indulge my sniffles like the super fun sicko I am. Seems my night is looking up!
Big hugs and lots of love,
Essss
Wow, what a great welcome home on a gloomy rainy day!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I get on my front porch are a lot of half eaten acorns, those squirrels are very messy eaters!
Sorry to hear you are under the weather. What a lovely gift to cheer you up!
